Ranthambhore Photo Workshop

Highlights
  • The tour has been designed for all wildlife photography enthusiasts who would like to hone their skills.

  • With me, you'll learn photography from the base up, focusing on the basics and learning how and where to implement them in the field.

  • 3 Nights / 4 Days. -Ex Sawai Madhopur. ( Ex Delhi can be arranged on request)

  • 04 regular safaris (Zone 1-6) in exclusive gypsy vehicles under the guidance of a photo mentor, experienced naturalist & driver.

  • Only 4 persons in a vehicle.

  • All major meals. ( BLD)

  • Accommodation on a twin-sharing basis.

  • All park entrance, permits, driver & guide fees.

Itinerary
Day - 1
  • Arrive and check in to the hotel. 

  • Meet up for lunch followed by a quick briefing in preparation for our afternoon safari. 

  • Enjoy your first safari and come back in the evening and after refreshing yourself meet up for light refreshment. 

  • Workshop with your mentor, refreshing the basic concepts of photography, reviewing the pics captured during the safari, and also helps you understand the expectations of the tour.  

  • This will also prep you up for the forthcoming safaris, where you will deep dive into the fundamental tips, and tricks of wildlife photography when you click stationary and moving subjects for example Birds in flight or on perch or in water bodies, big and small mammals, against backgrounds of foliage, in water bodies and against the majestic landscapes of Ranthambhore.  

  • Enjoy dinner followed by restful sleep. 

Day - 2 - 3
  • Early morning wakeup call at around 5:00 a.m. assemble at 5:30 a.m. for a quick cuppa and we proceed for our morning game drive in the next 30 mins. 

  • Enjoy the safari in the allotted zone. This is when we will try to implement our theoretical photography learnings in the field and make the best use of the golden hour.  

  • After returning back from the game drive enjoy a sumptuous breakfast, refresh up before we assemble again for another round of photography discussion where we walk through the pictures clicked during the safari and try to correlate them with the fundamentals of photography like composition, exposure, metering, shutter speed, etc. with reference to wildlife and nature.  

  • This is followed by lunch and leisure time until our afternoon game drive.  

  • Enjoy the afternoon safari, wherein using your camera you will innovate with the composition of new subjects in the afternoon sun and the approaching dusk.  

  • After returning back in the evening, have an hour’s rest and we assemble again for our workshop where we look at all the various aspects of photography like composition, light, and review the pics clicked during the safari.  

  • Enjoy dinner followed by chit chats and sleep.  

Day - 4
  • Early morning wakeup call at around 5:00 a.m. assemble at 5:30 a.m. for a quick cuppa and we proceed for our morning game drive in the next 30 mins. 

  • Enjoy the safari in your allotted zone taking pictures of your subjects in new terrain and topography.  

  • Bring your learnings to practical use constantly remembering your fundamentals of wildlife photography learned in the previous two days.  

  • Return to the hotel after the game drive, refresh, and check-out out your rooms.  

  • Enjoy lunch over discussions and learnings of the drive. 

  • Depart for your journey back home as the tour ends here.

Recommended Equipment 

Camera Bodies  

  • At least two camera bodies.  

  • One full-frame and the other a crop sensor. 

    Lenses  

  • For wide-angle and close shots, it is desirable to have a 16-35mm and 70-200mm, 24-105mm range lens.  

  • Telephoto lenses: For long shots, a100-400mm or a 150-600mm or a 200-500mm, variable zoom lens.

  • Super Telephoto Prime lenses – anything above 500 mm is good.

    Other Essentials: Memory Cards, Extra Batteries, Card Readers, Lens wipes, External storage, Laptop. 

    Note: Photography gear rentals can be arranged at an extra cost.

Inclusions
  • Pick & Drop from Sawai Madhopur station.

  • Accommodation for three nights on a twin-sharing basis.

Exclusions
  • Any tips and gratuity.

  • Camera fees if any (Have to be paid directly if applicable)

  • Any kind of alcoholic or soft beverage.

  • Any meals (apart from meals mentioned in the itinerary), snacks, or extra meals ordered.

  • Medical / Travel insurance.

  • Any other expenses not expressly included.

Terms & Conditions
  • It is presumed that the Participant who has registered for the workshop/tour has read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Contract terms by completing the registration process by paying the applicable fee/charges.

  • The Participant agrees to pay the booking price and charges for the service, including any applicable additional fees (if any), in installments, with 75% of the booking amount paid upfront upon booking the tour and the remaining 25% payable on or before the last date of booking.

  • In the eventuality of a cancelation, the booking fee is non-refundable.

  • The Participant undertakes all risk and responsibility for his or her use of the Service, as does the service provider.

  • The Participant accepts full risk and responsibility for his or her use of the Service, and the service provider is not responsible or liable for any damage or loss suffered by the Participant during the workshop/ tour

  • The Service offered is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, and it is not guaranteed to be uninterrupted or error-free, even though every effort has been made to ensure that it is.

  • About the Services, we, the service providers, shall not be responsible to the Participant or any other person for any special, incidental, lost profits, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages.

  • Cancellations and amendments to reservations would only be accepted if they are explicitly communicated over email to "info@somnathbanerjee.com" and this date would be considered for refund amount as applicable.

  • In the event of cancellation by any means, the Participant is liable for compensating us, the service providers, for any consequential damages.

  • The participant is deemed to acknowledge that the mentioned accommodation in the specified hotel is subject to availability and that if the hotel specified is not available, the participant will be reassigned to a hotel of equivalent rating.

  • That in the event of cancellation by providers, the Participant would get a full refund as soon as possible. Apart from the full refund, the service providers are not liable for any additional damage or loss of any nature whatsoever that may arise as a consequence of the workshop/ tour getting canceled such as airfares, train, or any other medium of travel cost for a previously booked travel.

  • The Participant is deemed to accept that he or she is liable for all ancillary expenses incurred in the field during the workshop that has not been explicitly included in the fee/charges.

  • These Terms and Conditions apply solely to the specific workshop/tour and are subject to revision since they are variable.

  • The Participant is deemed to have read, acknowledged, and agreed to the precise Terms & Conditions for such workshop/class in which he or she has enrolled.

  • During the Christmas / New Year periods, the stated price is not applicable.

  • Unless otherwise specified, all hotels have a 12 noon check-in and check-out time.

  • Park fees are subject to revision without prior notice.

  • We have no control over this, and any increases will be communicated to you.

  • We will not be held liable if the tour gets canceled due to unforeseen circumstances such as flight delays and cancellations, natural catastrophes, political unrest, etc.

Covid - 19 / Omicron Protocols.

The safety and security of our participants is paramount to us.

Please be advised of the following in context of the present global pandemic:

  • Vaccinations is mandatory for each one of our participants.

  • Our entire team has been vaccinated.

  • All participants should always wear masks at all times, including during jeep safari, in compliance with existing government and forest department guidelines.

  • All COVID-19 safety protocols will be observed by drivers and guides.

  • Before and after each safari, the vehicles will be disinfected.

  • Each vehicle will be furnished with sanitizer and disinfectant. However, participants are encouraged to carry their own.

  • All participants will be obligated to provide a COVID negative test.

  • A travel history form will be provided to all guests.

  • We request you to share all travel details with us that you undertook at least 30 days before the tour dates.

  • To mark yourself safe, please download, install and refresh the Aarogya Setu App on a routine basis.

  • Each day, all participants will be required to have their temperature examined.

  • If anybody exhibits symptoms while being on the tour, they will not be allowed to proceed onto subsequent safaris and would be advised to quarantine themselves immediately.

  • We would request that any participant develops any symptoms prior to the tour dates (including & not limited to fever, cold, cough, loss of taste, or smell), we would request them to drop out of the tour. As per company and forest department rules, your seat will be considered cancelled, and there will be no refunds

  • We will not be liable for any last-minute travel bans imposed by government entities that may impede road, airline, or train travel, and cancellations would be enforced according to forest department regulations.
